ABOUT
At The Active Experience® we are more than a counseling center as we take a holistic approach to health and wellness. We don’t see our clients as a cluster of symptoms that need to be untangled or straightened. Rather, we see our clients as whole individuals who may be experiencing a rough patch. Regardless of your particular challenge, our goal remains the same. We want to remind you of who you were before you felt swallowed by your current challenges, and we want to help you reintroduce yourself to that person.
WHAT IS AN ACTIVE EXPERIENCE?
An active experience is the adventurous condition that occurs when one is dynamically engaged in positively building one’s mental, physical, emotional, and/or spiritual health. It can be a moment filled with excitement, hesitation, and/or fear—or perhaps a mix of multiple emotions. An active experience is any incident that moves one beyond awareness into a state of action. If it feels like you’re “working” at something, chances are that you’re engaged in an active experience.

The Active Experience® was founded by Dr. Jaz in 2019. As both a psychologist and holistic nutritionist, Dr. Jaz is uniquely poised to assess clients’ needs and design healing and growth plans that are comprehensive in nature. Science and research have long since identified the healing properties and preventive benefits of proper nutrition. Dr. Jaz brings that science and research into all of the work that we do at The Active Experience®, and it’s this progressive approach that our clients continue to praise.
Dr. Jaz is an artist with an award-winning one-woman show. She is an author with two titles to her credit. She is the CEO of the Los Angeles-based nonprofit, Healing, Hope & Love. She is an adjunct professor, and she is an actively engaged member of several mental health and nutrition-focused professional organizations. Her mission at The Active Experience® is to honor each client’s personhood by seeing them as a whole and complex being, to assess the impact of physical, mental, and spiritual wellness of each individual, and to cultivate healing environments that promote individual growth based on these individual needs.
